Welcome to Beyond the Stigma AZ | Breaking Mental Health Stigma Together
Stories & Stigma from the voice behind Beyond the Stigma AZ
Starting this blog feels like a natural next step in the journey of Beyond the Stigma AZ. When I opened my practice, I knew I wanted it to be more than a place for appointments. I wanted to create a space where people could feel seen, heard, and understood, even outside of session time.
Why I’m Starting This Blog
Too often, conversations about mental health happen behind closed doors, or they do not happen at all. Stigma can make people believe they should feel ashamed, that they have done something wrong, or that they need to hide what they are experiencing. My goal is to bring those conversations into the open and remind you that you are not alone.
What You Can Expect
On this blog, you’ll find:
Education about ADHD, OCD, anxiety, trauma, and more
Practical tools for navigating daily challenges
Stories and reflections from real life as a psychiatric nurse practitioner
A Reflection for Your Mental Health Journey
If you have ever felt that your struggles did not “count” or were not “bad enough” to deserve support, I want you to know that you do not have to wait until things become unbearable. Your experience matters, and asking for help is not an admission of failure. It is one way of choosing to care for yourself.
Wherever you are in your mental health journey, I hope this blog gives you language for what you are experiencing, practical information you can use, and reassurance that meaningful change is possible. Thank you for being here at the beginning of this chapter. I look forward to walking alongside you.
